[01-30-2023] Riverside County, CA – 28-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck Following Pedestrian Collision on Interstate 10

A 28-year-old woman, identified as Alyssa P., was killed after a pedestrian collision in Banning on Monday night, January 30, 2023.

According to authorities, the fatal crash occurred around 6:20 p.m. on Interstate 10 eastbound, less than a mile east of Hargrave Street.

Reports claimed that the woman initially walked into traffic while strolling along the freeway’s shoulder and prompted concerned drivers to call 911.

The victim allegedly stepped into the slow lane for an unknown reason and was struck by the driver of a red Honda, who then came to a complete stop.

Paramedics immediately arrived and declared the female pedestrian dead at the scene.

While conducting a preliminary investigation with coroner’s officials, officers closed the No. 3 and 4 lanes.

Two hours later, the lane restrictions were removed.

The cause of the fatality is still being investigated.
