A two-vehicle collision killed a woman, identified as Ulises G., and injured another in Fontana on Monday afternoon, January 30, 2023.
According to reports, the fatal crash occurred around 1:14 p.m. in the 11160 block of Mulberry Avenue.
Authorities stated that a driver parked his tractor-trailer before making an erroneous U-turn across lanes of traffic and attempting to travel north on Mulberry.
A southbound Honda Civic collided with the trailer’s back as it moved. The 21-year-old Driver was taken with severe wounds to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
The 21-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead by responders at the scene.
The Driver of the tractor-trailer cooperated with the police, and there was no indication that alcohol or drugs were involved.
Investigations into the fatal collision are underway.
