A bicyclist was killed after being struck by a car and hospitalized in Union City on Tuesday afternoon, January 31, 2023.
According to the Union City Police Department, the crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. on Central Avenue and Atlantic Street.
The rider, identified as 69-year-old Hayward resident Paul M., was transported to a hospital, where he died one week later on Wednesday, February 08, 2023.
The driver that struck him remained on the scene and cooperated with the authorities. No criminal offense was charged as the investigation continued.
No further details on the circumstances leading to the fatal collision were immediately available.
