[02-07-2023] Unidentified Person Fatally Struck After Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 10A pedestrian crash led to the death of one person in Indio late Tuesday night, February 7, 2023.

Reports stated that the deadly collision occurred around 10:57 p.m. at the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near the State Highway 86 interchange.

According to authorities, they were notified that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on the freeway.

Investigators have not yet released the victim’s name, but the pedestrian died at the scene.

Freeway traffic was diverted onto State Highway 86 until 3:00 a.m.

The driver’s identity was not revealed.

The crash’s cause is still under investigation.
