A tree trimmer was killed after he was struck by palm fronds while working in San Diego on Monday morning, February 13, 2023.
Reports stated that the fatal accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. at home on Bonita Verde Drive in Bonita.
Authorities arrived and found that the 39-year-old victim’s coworkers were attempting to free him from the heavy foliage pinning him to the palm tree.
When firefighters arrived at the trapped man via a giant ladder, they discovered that he had died from his injuries.
The captain estimated it took them about half an hour to free the victim’s body.
If palm fronds fall on the tree trimmer, it can be dangerous.
The identity of the victim has been withheld pending notification from the family.
