A woman, identified as Michelle L., was bitten by a dog during an unprovoked attack while walking along Artesia Boulevard in Redondo Beach on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
According to the victim, she was on her daily walk when a dog suddenly jumped out of an open doorway and bit her on the left arm. Surveillance footage reportedly captured the incident.
Michelle L. said the bite resulted in bruising and limited mobility in her arm. She initially spoke with the dog’s owner, but later believed she was given an incorrect phone number when she attempted to follow up.
The victim said she is seeking information about the dog, including whether its vaccinations are up to date.
The Redondo Beach Police Department confirmed that officers received calls related to the dog bite. Authorities stated that no suspect was taken into custody and that, as of Sunday night, police were not actively searching for anyone connected to the incident.
How Dog Bite Injury Lawyers Can Help
Dog bite incidents often raise questions about medical care and legal responsibility. Lawyers who handle dog bite injury cases help explain how California law applies to a specific situation.
Legal guidance often includes reviewing medical records, animal control reports, and witness statements to understand what happened. This review can also involve checking whether the dog had a prior bite history and whether leash or vaccination rules were followed.
Every dog bite case is different, and outcomes depend on the facts involved. Speaking with a dog bite injury lawyer helps clarify possible next steps during the recovery process.
