[02-19-2023] 100-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed in Oakland Hit & Run CrashA 100-year-old male pedestrian was killed by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in Oakland on Sunday morning, February 19, 2023.

According to the Oakland Police Department, the fatal collision occurred around 7:00 a.m. at the 19th Street and Harrison Street intersection.

The responders found the elderly man with serious head trauma. First aid was administered, but he was declared dead. His identity was withheld until the next of kin was notified.

The vehicle, a tan or white Mini Cooper, reportedly fled the scene. $10,000 in reward money is being offered by the police in exchange for information on the driver and the car involved in the fatal crash.

There were no additional details released. The authorities were unsure whether alcohol or drugs played a role.
