[02-19-2023] Rider Struck and Killed After Traffic Collision on Interstate 880A motorcycle collision led to the death of a rider in Fremont on Sunday night, February 19, 2023.

According to authorities, the deadly crash occurred around 6:20 p.m. on northbound Interstate 880 south of Automall Parkway.

Reports confirmed that responders discovered a motorcycle rider with severe injuries in the left lane of the road.

Despite lifesaving measures, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The person’s identity was withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.

No other injuries had been reported.

At 8:39 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers issued a Sig-alert, closing the two left-hand lanes of the highway. All lanes were reopened just before 9:00 p.m.
