[02-19-2023] Vehicle Killed Man Who Fell Off His Scooter in Otay Mesa Hit & RunA 43-year-old man riding a scooter fell off his bike, got run over, and was killed by a heavy vehicle that fled the scene in San Diego on Sunday night, February 19, 2023.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the deadly hit-and-run crash occurred at about 8:00 p.m. at 1900 La Media Road in the community of Otay Mesa.

The man was reportedly traveling north on a blue Italia W150 motor scooter when he got separated from his bike for reasons still under investigated. He was run over, possibly by a big rig truck or any heavy vehicle, the exact description of which was unknown, which then fled the scene.

The rider had multiple rib fracturs in addition to a fractured skull due to the crash. He was pronounced dead at the spot. His identity was withheld at the moment by the authorities.

No further information was immediately available as the police looked further into the fatal crash.
