What Should I Do After an Accident?
Be responsible for calling the police and waiting for them to arrive. If you are interviewed at the accident scene, be honest about what you saw and felt. Never assume anything when talking about something you don’t fully understand. A victim’s shock or anxiety following an accident may lead them to apologize profusely, even if they were not at fault. Insurance companies can interpret this act of kindness as evidence of your admission of guilt to avoid paying out a claim.
