[02-22-2026] Kern County, CA – Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Two Vehicles in Bakersfield

A pedestrian died after being struck by two vehicles in Bakersfield on Sunday night, February 22, 2026.

According to Bakersfield police, officers responded just before 8:30 p.m. to reports of an incident on Baker Street near East 19th Street.

A preliminary investigation determined that the man was in the roadway, outside a crosswalk, when he was hit by a white Chevrolet pickup truck traveling north. Moments later, he was struck by a silver Nissan sedan traveling south.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His identity has not been released.

Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

The investigation remains ongoing.
