[02-23-2026] Plumas County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle on SR-70 East of Mill Creek Rd.

A female pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Plumas County on Monday night, February 23, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the incident at around 10:35 p.m. on State Route 70, east of Mill Creek Road,

Authorities reported that a female driver traveling eastbound on SR-70 struck the pedestrian, who was in the eastbound traffic lane.

Despite life-saving efforts by CHP and Plumas County Sheriff’s Department personnel, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, and alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor to the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
