[03-04-2026] Alameda County, CA – Woman Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle While Crossing Ashby Ave. in Berkeley

A woman was sent to the hospital with significant injuries after being struck by a driver while crossing Ashby Avenue in Berkeley on Wednesday night, March 4, 2026.

According to Berkeley police, the incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. at the intersection of Ashby Avenue and Regent Street.

Authorities stated that the driver, a 50-year-old Berkeley man, was traveling eastbound on Ashby when he struck the woman, a 54-year-old Berkeley resident, in the crosswalk. The impact threw the woman approximately 10 feet through the air.

The driver remained at the scene for the investigation, and the Berkeley Fire Department rushed the woman to Highland Hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.
