[03-16-2023] Hit-And-Run Collision in Del Rey Fatally Struck PedestrianA driver was arrested after a hit-and-run collision killed a pedestrian, identified as Jaime L., in Fresno County on Thursday night, March 16, 2023.

According to reports, the deadly crash transpired around 7:00 p.m. near Carmel and Morro Avenues.

Authorities received calls about a man on the road injured after being hit by a fleeing vehicle. When they arrived, they immediately transported the 48-year-old victim to the hospital.

It was later confirmed that he died due to his injuries.

The next day, deputies say they pulled over a Chevrolet Tahoe involved in a hit-and-run near south Bethel and east Jefferson avenues.

After examining the vehicle and speaking with the driver, the 54-year-old man, Ronald S., was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of homicide.
