What To Do After A Pedestrian Accident In San Diego, CA
Knowing what to do after a pedestrian accident is crucial for protecting your health, legal rights, and ability to seek compensation. Our legal team recommends taking the following steps:
- Prioritize Safety — If you or anyone else is injured, call 911 immediately. If possible, move to a safe area away from traffic to prevent further harm.
- Report The Crash — Notify law enforcement right away. A police report serves as key evidence in building a strong injury claim.
- Seek Medical Care — See a medical professional even if you don’t feel injured. Some injuries take time to appear, and having medical records will strengthen your claim.
- Collect Evidence — If you can, take photos of the accident scene, your injuries, and any property damage. Get the driver’s contact and insurance details, and speak with witnesses to document their statements.
- Speak With A Pedestrian Accident Lawyer — Avoid discussing the accident with insurance companies before consulting a lawyer. Insurers often try to reduce payouts, but our experienced pedestrian accident attorneys in San Diego will fight to protect your rights and maximize your compensation.
