[03-21-2025] Orange County, CA – Worker Killed in Crash at Construction Site on 91 Freeway

A 45-year-old contract worker, identified as Jose M., was killed in a crash in Buena Park on Friday morning, March 21, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 4 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the 91 Freeway.

Authorities stated that a 22-year-old man driving a 2020 Dodge Ram pickup truck struck the victim, who was working at a construction site on the freeway.

The young driver remained at the scene and performed CPR on the victim until paramedics arrived. Despite efforts to save him, the worker was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck has not been publicly identified, but authorities confirmed that he is cooperating with the investigation, and alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been factors in the crash.
