A hit-and-run crash claimed the life of an unidentified pedestrian in Bakersfield on Thursday night, March 23, 2023.
The deadly collision reportedly occurred around 7:50 p.m. on South Chester Avenue near Southgate Drive.
According to authorities, they received reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Before officers arrived, the car immediately fled the scene. Paramedics pronounced that the unidentified victim was dead at the scene.
Details on the victim’s identity are yet to be released.
Officers closed down southbound traffic on South Chester Avenue while investigating.
