[03-24-2023] Three-Car Collision on Highway 121 Injured Several PeopleSeveral people were injured following a multi-vehicle collision near Napa on Friday morning, March 24, 2023.

Reports indicated that the crash occurred around 6:20 a.m. on Highway 121, south of Stanley Lane.

According to authorities, the first crash occurred when a 68-year-old, identified as Joseph P., driving a Pontiac, rear-ended a GMC Yukon driven by 33- year-old Brauilio R.,

The two vehicles involved had stabilized but were blocking traffic lanes. The 68-year-old driver required medical attention, and several bystanders stopped to assist. Two bystanders entered the Pontiac van, and four more stood on the passenger side to help.

A third vehicle, a 2017 Colorado Chevy pickup truck driven by 54-year-old Oscar G. of Sonoma, crashed into the van’s driver’s side. The force of the second collision pushed the Pontiac into the pedestrians assisting the injured driver.

Due to the chain reaction, three patients were taken to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Joseph P. sustained the most severe injuries but were non-life threatening.

The two collisions involved a total of eight people. While three of the injured were taken to the hospital, officers stated that other bystanders reported pain injuries that did not necessitate immediate medical attention. At the scene, no arrests were made.
