[03-24-2023] San Diego County, CA – 77-Year-Old Bicyclist Hospitalized After DUI Hit-And-Run Crash in Carlsbad

A 77-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized after a DUI hit-and-run crash in Carlsbad on Friday afternoon, March 24, 2023.

The Carlsbad Police Department reported that the collision happened around 2:00 p.m. in the 6100 block of Aviara Parkway.

The victim was riding his bicycle when a vehicle struck him from behind. The bicyclist was left with potentially life-threatening injuries and was sent to a nearby hospital.

The suspect, a 34-year-old man named Lawrence P., was eventually tracked down and arrested for displaying symptoms of intoxication.
