A pedestrian crash killed an unidentified person in Oceanside on early Saturday morning, March 25, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:18 a.m. along State Route 78, east of Emerald Drive.
A pedestrian was walking along the third westbound lane when a vehicle struck him. The victim sustained injuries but was declared dead on arrival after being transported to a nearby hospital.
The 38-year-old driver of the vehicle did not receive any injuries.
The cause of the fatal crash is currently being investigated by the authorities.
