One person was killed following a multi-vehicle collision in the town of Crockett, Contra Costa County, on Thursday morning, March 27, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), officers were alerted to a multi-vehicle crash at around 3:50 a.m. on Interstate Highway 80 near the Carquinez Bridge and the Eastbound Pomono Street off-ramp.
The crash involved at least four vehicles, including a big rig. A coroner was called to the scene nearly an hour after the crash, which resulted in the temporary closure of all eastbound lanes west of the Carquinez Bridge, authorities said.
Authorities confirmed that all lanes reopened as of approximately 8:42 a.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
