[03-29-2026] San Joaquin County, CA – Motorcyclist Killed, Passenger Injured in Crash Involving Ford Pickup Truck on Escalon-Bellota Rd.

A motorcyclist was killed, and a passenger suffered major injuries in a crash involving a Ford pickup truck in San Joaquin County on Sunday afternoon, March 29, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Escalon-Bellota Road, south of Highway 4.

The pickup truck, towing a livestock trailer, slowed to make a left turn when the motorcycle, a 2008 Honda sport-type bike, failed to recognize the truck’s slowing speed.

The motorcycle collided with the trailer, ejecting both the 43-year-old driver and 41-year-old passenger, both from Modesto.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was transported to a hospital with major injuries.

The driver of the Ford pickup was uninjured, and authorities are still investigating whether DUI played a role in the crash.
