What Should You Do After an Accident Occurred?
Ensure that law enforcement arrives at the collision scene and files a report. When being interviewed at the accident scene, be honest about what you witnessed and experienced. Don’t assume anything about things you don’t understand; be careful what you say. The anxiety and shock that follow an accident can cause victims to apologize profusely, even when they aren’t at fault. Insurance companies can use this act of kindness as evidence that you admitted fault to avoid paying out a claim.
