[03-30-2023] One Person Killed After Fiery Two-Vehicle Collision in GilroyOne person was killed following a fiery two-vehicle collision in Gilroy on Thursday evening, March 30, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 7:50 p.m. on Highway 101’s southbound lanes, north of Leavesley Road.

The responding officers arrived at the scene and located a Toyota Prius and a second vehicle, with one on fire. It’s currently unclear what exactly led to the crash.

Following the collision, one of the vehicles left the road, damaging 40 feet of chain-link fence and around 80 feet of the right shoulder’s guardrail.

According to the report, the collision resulted in at least one death. It was unclear if there were any other injuries.

CHP officials are still looking into the whole crash. No other information is immediately available.

Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident Statistics
