[04-01-2022] Santa Clara County, CA - Officer Hurt After a Suspected DUI Crash in Mountain ViewA police officer was injured following a traffic collision involving a suspected drunk driver in Mountain View on Friday evening, April 1st, 2022.

The collision occurred at approximately 11:00 p.m. on California Street and Chiquita Avenue in Mountain View.

The office was on patrol at the time of the accident when he noticed a driver who failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection.

The driver then crashed into the officer’s patrol vehicle. The office was rushed to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.

The K9 police dog inside the officer’s car was uninjured in the crash. Meanwhile, the other driver was cited for drunk driving.

An active investigation of the collision is currently underway.
