A dump truck driver sustained major injuries after a crash involving a Tesla caused the truck to overturn and spill dirt onto both sides of Interstate 680 in Sunol, Alameda County, on Thursday morning, April 3, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 9:34 a.m. when the dump truck swerved to avoid a Tesla, overturning a concrete dividing line between the northbound and southbound lanes.
The driver of the truck suffered a head injury and was reportedly bleeding, according to CHP logs. The extent of their injuries was classified as major.
No injuries to the Tesla driver were mentioned in the CHP log.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
