[04-03-2026] Riverside County, CA – 54-Year-Old Man Killed in Crash Involving Truck in Menifee

A 54-year-old man was killed in a crash involving a Southern California Edison truck in Menifee on Friday night, April 3, 2026.

According to the Menifee Police Department, the crash was reported at around 8 p.m. in the area of Menifee Road, north of McLaughlin Road.

Responding officers found a 2024 Toyota Prius and an SCE utility truck pulling a wooden electrical pole involved in the collision. The Prius sustained major damage.

Cal Fire Riverside personnel and paramedics responded to the scene, where the driver and sole occupant of the Prius was pronounced dead. The Riverside County coroner’s office identified the victim as Taylor W., 54, of Homeland.

Investigators believe the utility truck was making a left turn from the driveway of the Edison substation on Menifee Road while the Prius was traveling northbound on Menifee Road.

Authorities said the Prius struck the wooden electrical pole being pulled by the truck. Alcohol and or drugs did not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
