Fatal Motorcyclist Accident Statistics
In 2016, 5,286 motorcyclists were killed in the United States each year. California is home to the most motorcycles registered in the country.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, motorcycle riders are 16 times more likely to be injured and 35 times more likely to be killed than automobile passengers.
Unfortunately, California does not do enough to accommodate motorcycles, which is why it is a shame. Most motorcycles in the country are registered in California. There are approximately 800,000 motorcycles registered in the state of California. More than 15,000 people were injured, and 541 people were killed in California motorcycle accidents in 2017.
Wearing a helmet can reduce your risk of suffering a catastrophic brain injury. According to a study, helmets could have saved the lives of 37 percent of motorcycle riders. Despite this, they may still be at risk for the rest of their bodies.
