[04-12-2023] Stanislaus County, CA – Motorcycle Vs. Vehicle Crash Near Oakdale Kills One And Injures Another

A motorcycle rider was killed, and his passenger was moderately injured after a collision with a vehicle north of Oakdale on Wednesday night, April 12, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash involving a 1996 Ford pickup and a 2003 Honda Cycle occurred around 8:10 p.m. on Highway 120 at 26 Mile Road.

Injuries caused by the crash led to the 20-year-old Honda rider’s death. He was rushed to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, where he later died.

A passenger in the Honda, identified as Eugenio M., a 16-year-old Riverbank resident, suffered severe injuries and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

According to a CHP press statement, the pickup’s driver, a 22-year-old identified as Dayton W. of Oakdale, was uninjured.

As stated in the initial investigation, the Honda rider traveled west on SR-120 as he approached 26 Mile Road.

The pickup truck driver stopped at the stop sign while traveling south on 26 Mile Road. He arrived at the intersection simultaneously with the Honda, resulting in a broadside crash.

An inspection of the Honda revealed it lacked the lights necessary to operate on a roadway, and both motorcycle riders were not wearing helmets.

The authorities have not released further details about the crash or the victims.
