[04-13-2023] Tuolumne County, CA – Elderly Couple Suffered Minor Injuries After Single-Vehicle Crash in Moccasin Area

An elderly couple sustained minor injuries after a single-vehicle crash in the Moccasin area of Tuolumne County on Thursday, April 13, 2023.

According to Steve Machado, the spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol, the Lincoln Continental vehicle crashed on an embankment on Highway 120, east of Jacksonville Road.

The elderly male said he saw something on the road and attempted to avoid it. As a result, he lost control of the car, which plunged down an embankment about 100 to 150 feet.

First responders used a rope to scale the ravine and save the couple. They were transported to the hospital by air ambulance after suffering minor injuries and complaining of pain.

The authorities used a flatbed tow truck to remove the vehicle from the embankment. The crash is still under investigation by the CHP.
