[04-16-2026] Orange County, CA – Elderly Man Seriously Injured After Being Struck by E-Bike in Lake Forest

An 81-year-old man remains in critical condition after being struck by a 14-year-old boy riding an e-bike in Lake Forest, Orange County, on Thursday afternoon, April 16, 2026.

Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded around 4:00 p.m. to Toledo Way and Ridge Route Drive, which borders El Toro High School, where they found the elderly man with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The 14-year-old, riding an off-road electric motorcycle, fled the scene after the crash. Based on witness information, a search warrant was served at a nearby residence in Lake Forest, leading to the teen’s arrest.

The 14-year-old was booked at Orange County Juvenile Hall on charges related to the incident.
