A hit-and-run crash sent one person to the hospital after a wrong-way driver crashed into their car following a high-speed chase in Lemon Grove late Monday night, April 17, 2023.
According to San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, deputies spotted a car traveling on the wrong side of the road at around 10 p.m. They attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver sped away.
Deputies lost sight of the car traveling along Massachusetts Avenue to the south. However, they quickly found it after it crashed into a vehicle near Mount Vernon Street.
It is reported that the second vehicle’s driver suffered a minor injury and was taken to the hospital by a family member.
The driver who started the chase fled the crash scene and was not found as of Tuesday at 6:00 a.m.
The authorities have not yet released any further information.
