[04-21-2025] Sacramento County, CA – 63-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Crash on Madison Avenue in North Highlands

A 63-year-old male bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle along Madison Avenue in North Highlands, Sacramento County, on Monday night, April 21, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 8:58 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Madison Avenue just east of Jackson Street.

Emergency crews transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:27 p.m.

CHP Officer Justin Fetterly confirmed that the driver of a Mazda involved in the crash remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Alcohol and drugs were not considered factors on the part of the driver.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the bicyclist’s full identity following notification of next of kin.

The collision remains under investigation by the CHP North Sacramento office.
