According to local authorities, the incident occurred around 10:51 PM on East Chapman Avenue near Rancho Santiago Boulevard.

As per the report, the cyclist was found lying on the road, sustained fatal injuries, and was pronounced deceased at the scene while the SUV was stopped nearby and the driver remained.
