According to the West Covina Police Department, the solo-vehicle incident occurred at about 12:05 a.m. at the intersection of Valinda and Glendora Avenues.

As per the report, the driver, Jose J., a 24-year-old from Victorville, was detained on suspicion of committing felony drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter.

Juarez sustained minor injuries and is currently held at the West Covina jail on $100,000 bail. A passenger in the vehicle was killed in the crash.

The investigation is in progress.
