[04-24-2023] Pedestrian Severely Injured After a Hit-and-Run in Kearny MesaA pedestrian was severely injured due to a hit-and-run in San Diego County late at night on Monday, April 24, 2023.

The San Diego Police Department reported that at 7400 Copley Park Place, Kearny Mesa, just before midnight, a 37-year-old man was struck by a car that fled the scene.

Although his injuries were non-life-threatening, he suffered a brain bleed and seven fractured ribs when hospitalized.

The authorities have not revealed the victim’s identity until they have notified the next of kin. The cause of the collision and whether drugs or alcohol played a role are still unknown.

The crash is under investigation by SDPD’s Traffic Division.
