A Merced police officer was hurt following a two-vehicle crash in Martin Luther King Jr. Way on Thursday morning, April 28, 2022.
The accident transpired at approximately 9:45 a.m. in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Way and West 14th Street.
The officer was traveling southbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Way when his vehicle was T-boned by a westbound 2001 Volkswagen Jetta on West 14th Street.
The Volkswagen driver initially stopped for a posted stop sign before continuing into the intersection and crashing into the patrol car.
The Merced police officer sustained minor injuries in the mishap and went to a medical office for treatment. Information about the crash is limited at the moment.
Local authorities are further investigating the case.
