What To Do After A Car Accident In Jurupa Valley, CA

Dealing with the aftermath of a car accident is difficult. As an accident victim, you must take immediate action to safeguard your safety and legal rights if you are still able to:

  1. Ensure Safety First — Try to move your car to the side of the road to prevent future collisions. To alert other motorists, turn on your hazard lights as you wait for the police.
  2. Be Calm — Remain composed and stay at the scene. Look for any injuries. When interacting with other persons involved in the crash, avoid accepting blame for it.
  3. Report The Crash — Call 911 to notify the authorities about the collision. They will document the mishap and draft an official report that can help bolster your claim later on.
  4. Exchange Information — Share names, contact information, and insurance details with the other parties. Take pictures of each car involved, taking note of the license plates and any damage.
  5. Seek Medical Care — Seek medical attention as quickly as possible, regardless of how minor the injuries seem. Certain symptoms might not show up right away. To support your claim, you will also require medical records.
  6. Inform Your Insurance Company — Inform your insurance company about the accident. Follow their instructions on how to report an accident.
  7. Do Not Handle Insurance Adjusters Alone — Give the other party’s insurance adjuster only the basic information they require if they get in touch with you. Never accept an offer or sign anything without first getting legal counsel.
  8. Preserve Evidence — Ensure all relevant documents, including the police report, medical bills, the other driver’s information, and medical records, are appropriately preserved.
  9. Contact Arash Law At (888) 488-1391 — Our knowledgeable car accident lawyers can evaluate the merits of your case, negotiate with insurance companies, and offer you legal counsel about bringing a personal injury claim.
