A pedestrian was fatally struck in a collision involving multiple vehicles on the Hollywood (101) Freeway near the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, early Tuesday morning, May 13, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at approximately 1:18 a.m. on the southbound 101 Freeway near the Cahuenga Boulevard off-ramp.
Officers arriving at the scene found a BMW sedan blocking one lane and a white sedan with deployed airbags stopped in the middle lanes.
The impact of the collision reportedly threw the pedestrian into the northbound lanes. The victim, whose identity, age, and gender have not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
A SigAlert was issued, and three lanes of the southbound freeway were closed for more than three hours while investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
