[05-14-2022] Contra Costa County, CA – Two-Vehicle Collision Leads to Shooting Injuring One Person in Brentwood

According to the police, a person involved in a two-vehicle crash responded by shooting the person who drove the other car on Summerset Drive Saturday 14, 2022.

The collision and shooting happened about 11 p.m. on Balfour Road between Fairview Avenue and Summerset Drive.

According to Brentwood Police Lt. Walter O’G., the person who was shot was expected to recover. He went to a hospital to treat his wounds, and the hospital staff alerted the police.

Investigators recovered shell casings from the scene, according to O’Grodnick.

According to O’Grodnick, the shot driver kept driving after the collision, later telling police he was afraid to pull over.

Shots were fired as the vehicle continued to move after the collision, according to O’Grodnick.

Police have not identified a suspect and have no information on the vehicle used by the shooter.
