What to Do After a Pedestrian Accident

What you say and do at the scene of an automobile accident can significantly impact the outcome of a claim you bring against the tortfeasor, so it’s essential to think carefully about it. If you want to reduce the likelihood of doing something that could reduce the value of your personal injury claim, follow these tips.

  • Call the police immediately and have an officer complete a report outlining what happened.
  • Note the weather, road, and road conditions, as well as any property damage, the location of the accident, and the vehicle that impacted you.
  • The person who caused the accident should have their license, insurance card, and license plate photographed.
  • Find any possible witnesses and get in touch with them.
  • Visit a medical professional as soon as possible, and be specific about the areas of your body that have been affected.
  • Write down how you feel, what therapies you’re receiving, and how much money it’s costing you to recover in a notebook.
  • Before speaking with a lawyer, avoid talking to the insurance company or accepting a settlement offer.
  • Whether the accident was severe or not, you should refrain from discussing it online.
  • You should consult with the top California pedestrian accident attorney as quickly as possible.
