[05-16-2023] Metro Link Train Vs. Vehicle Collision in Valley Glen Kills One PersonA person was killed after a metro link train and vehicle collision in Valley Glen, Los Angeles, on Tuesday afternoon, May 16, 2023.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the collision occurred around 3:20 p.m. in the 12900 block of Raymer Avenue near Coldwater Canyon.

Authorities said that the vehicle was seriously damaged in the crash. Firefighters cut through the wreckage to extricate a person inside the vehicle, but the person was immediately declared dead.

The train was bound for Ventura County with fifty-three passengers on board. No injuries were reported to the train’s occupants.

No further details regarding the fatal collision were immediately available. The authorities are continuing their investigation into what caused the crash.
