[05-17-2022] San Diego County, CA - One Person Killed After a Fatal Bike Accident on 5 FreewayOne unidentified person was killed following a deadly bike crash on 5 Freeway on Tuesday morning, May 17, 2022.

The fatal accident happened at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Interstate 5 Freeway near Clairemont Drive.

A white Honda Accord was traveling in the southbound lanes when it struck the bicycle rider for unclear reasons.

Unfortunately, the bicycle rider could not survive their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Honda driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No arrests were made at the moment.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.
