Pedestrian Accident Statistics
The inability of pedestrians to prevent fatal injuries in the event of a car accident makes them the most vulnerable road users, without a doubt.
We’ve recently seen a dramatic increase in pedestrian deaths in the United States. A 27% increase in pedestrian deaths occurred between 2007 and 2016, while the number of other traffic-related deaths decreased by 14%.
The issue of drunk drivers harming pedestrians was settled once and for all. Driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol is against the law. Accidents involving drunk drivers are far less common than they should be in the United States.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), approximately 30 Americans lose their lives every day as a result of drunk driving accidents in the United States. Approximately 29% of all fatalities in the United States each year are attributed to alcohol-related vehicular accidents. They have a blood-alcohol level above the 0.08% legal limit in more than 60% of the cases.
