The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has identified the person who died in the two-vehicle crash on Highway 99 last Thursday, May 19, 2022.
They have identified the minivan driver as 42-year-old Richard L., residing in Stockton. The CHP release said Lim was from Elk Grove.
Mark Leavitt, a CHP public information officer, said that his agency’s information most likely came from Lim’s driver’s license.
The driver of the big rig, a 50-year-old from Arlington, Texas, had reportedly pulled over due to a medical emergency, and Quiggle with the fire department said he was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The fatal crash is still undergoing investigation.
According to the California Highway Patrol, one person was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 99 on Thursday, May 19, 2022.
The crash occurred on a Thursday on Highway 99 in Galt.
According to the CHP, a minivan and a big flatbed rig were stopped in the righthand shoulder of the northbound lanes of the highway, just south of Simmerhorn Road.
The CHP stated that one driver died as a result of the collision but did not specify which vehicle the driver was driving.
There are no other details available.
The crash remains under investigation.
