[05-27-2023] 3-Year-Old Child Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Chula Vista Parking LotA 3-year-old was fatally struck by a vehicle in a parking lot in Chula Vista on Saturday evening, May 27, 2023.

According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the fatal collision occurred in the Chula Vista Shopping Center parking lot at 891 Showroom Place around 6:21 p.m.

The driver, 36 years old, struck the 3-year-old and stayed at the scene until Chula Vista Fire Department officers arrived. In the aftermath of the incident, it is unclear what exactly happened.

The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and later died in the Rady Children’s Hospital.

Drugs or alcohol are believed not to have contributed to this incident.
