A 32-year-old male rider was injured after a motorcycle vs. vehicle crash in Mission Beach, San Diego, on Saturday afternoon, May 27, 2023.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision between the two vehicles occurred at 1000 West Mission Bay Drive around 4:15 p.m.
The 54-year-old man driving a 2011 Toyota Camry reportedly made a U-turn westbound on West Mission Bay Drive when it collided with the 2008 Triumph motorcycle.
The rider was transported to the hospital with open fractures in both arms and other injuries. Fortunately, his injuries are not considered life-threatening. The driver of the Camry was unharmed.
After being closed for about an hour, eastbound West Mission Bay Drive between Mission Boulevard and the Ingraham Street connector was reopened.
The SDPD claimed that alcohol was not a factor in the collision. Also, the Traffic Division of the San Diego Police Department is investigating the accident.
