[06-05-2022] Humboldt County, CA - One Person Killed After a Deadly Pedestrian Crash Near Bayside CutoffOne unidentified person was hurt following a deadly pedestrian crash near the Bayside Cutoff on early Sunday morning, June 5, 2022.

The deadly crash transpired at approximately 3:00 a.m. in the area of Highway 101 near the Bayside Cutoff.

A 2003 Mercury Mariner struck the unidentified pedestrian for unclear reasons. The driver remained at the scene and willingly cooperated with authorities.

Emergency personnel later arrived at the scene and treated the involved parties. Sadly, due to the severity of their injuries, the person who was struck has passed away. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.

Drugs and alcohol were not considered factors in the collision. No arrests have been made at the moment.
