One unidentified person was killed following a deadly two-vehicle crash near Brawley on Sunday morning, June 5, 2022.
The accident happened on Butters Road near State Route 78 in Brawley at approximately 7:00 a.m.
A Hyundai Elantra was traveling on Butters Road when a Toyota Tacoma suddenly drove directly into the path of the Hyundai for unclear reasons.
The Toyota and the Hyundai Elantra then collided. Due to the severity of the impact, the Toyota was pushed into a canal.
Unfortunately, the Hyundai driver was killed in the mishap. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Toyota driver sustained minor injuries.
Drugs and alcohol were not considered factors in the accident. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
