A 66-year-old man named Majid L. was severely injured in a DUI two-vehicle collision in Ventura County on Monday evening, June 5, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 5:49 p.m. on northbound US 101, near the Johnson Drive off-ramp.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered a severely damaged Acura facing the wrong direction on a concrete and brush embankment. The report said the incident involved a Dodge Charger and an Acura SUV.
Authorities determined that both vehicles were traveling northbound on US 101 when the Charger crashed into the Acura. This collision caused the Acura to lose control, veer across the traffic lanes, and collide with a light pole and a concrete wall on the dam.
As a result, Lashkari, a man from Ventura, sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Charger, identified as 21-year-old Oscar R. from Camarillo, underwent evaluation and subsequently got arrested for suspected DUI offenses. He was then taken to the Ventura County main jail for booking.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
